My expectations were not too high based on the price. I expected chrome-plating and not chrome, but I didn't expect the plating on the clamp to crack immediately upon installation. I'll be lucky to get through the season before the plating starts to begin peeling.There were no instructions, so installation is guess-work. Seems simple, but several questions do come up.
- There are two clamps; what ranges of bar sizes are these for?
- Are the 'pyramid-shaped' spacers used in every application?
- Do they go on the inside of the clamp in the same orientation as when the kit arrives?
- Am I to tighten, or partially/further tighten, the lock nut that the peg pivots on? (It's loose enough to fall off when it arrives, so the answer is obviously "yes", but how much and why did it come this way?)
The pegs included a piece of paper with a very lengthy warranty and liability disclaimer. Why couldn't the back contain a few instructions? Would've another piece of paper or a little toner hurt the profit margin that much?
