Dorman OE Solutions 955-302 Power Replacement Passenger Side Mirror Review

I used the Dorman OE Solutions 955-301 and 955-302 (driver and passenger respectively) parts to replace the broken mirrors on my 1996 GMC Jimmy.Overall, the Dorman OE Solutions parts fit well.Just be sure to save the original nuts since you only get the mirror assembly and the triangular foam piece.

Compared to the OEM mirror:
1. The Dorman parts are the same size as the OEM parts, but the actual mirror/reflective surface is about 15% smaller than the OEM parts so your field of view will diminish.

2. The Dorman mirror is not held inside the assembly as rigid as that of the OEM.This leads to the mirror vibrating at higher speed (60 mph plus).Just poking the mirror with a finger will show that the Dorman has more flex/give whereas the OEM mirror doesn't move.

3. The power motor is not as smooth (jerky) as that of the OEM.Adjusting the mirror will take a tiny weeny more effort.This could be related to #2.

If I had to do it again, I would pay twice the price to avoid the mirror vibration.However, if I don't intend to keep my vehicle, then the Dorman parts are perfectly fine.
